The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 is a sports car manufactured by Dodge.
The 2008 model received larger air intakes on the bonnet. Its V10 engine received a higher displacement with the result of 600 bhp as power output. Its successor - the SRT Viper GTS - was introduced two years after production of the SRT-10 ended.
The Viper SRT-10 appears in Need for Speed: Shift as a Tier 3 vehicle with a $170,000 price tag. It has a 10.00 car rating and is unlocked upon earning 40 stars.
The Viper SRT-10 appears in Shift 2: Unleashed as a Modern Muscle Road class vehicle with a $88,500 price tag. It has a B 1140 performance rating and a 3.41 handling rating.
The car reaches top speed sooner than similar vehicles thanks to strong acceleration. It can be handful in twisty corners as it has a lot of torque transferred to the rear wheels, which can result in oversteering.
A Coke Zero themed variant for Need for Speed: Shift was featured as a redeemable promotional gift on CokeZone.com. It has a Coke Zero paint job and is upgraded by default. Players cannot modify it and can reach a top speed of 172 mph (277 km/h) with it.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010)Edit
The racer Viper SRT-10 was only available as a promotional Dr Pepper vehicle for the Xbox 360 release. The SCPD variant is unlocked upon the player earning 253,000 bounty in the police career.
The Viper SRT-10 has quick acceleration and tends to slide in corners, allowing players to drift easily in long corners. However, this also make it difficult to control in tight roads.
Need for Speed: WorldEdit
The Viper SRT-10 first appeared Need for Speed: World on January 26th, 2011. It was initially only available as a Top-Up gift included in a 17,500 value bundle. The gift car had a "Limited Edition" style similar to that seen on the "Limited Edition" BMW Z4 M Coupe.
The standard Viper SRT-10 was made available in the title's car dealer on February 21st, 2011 but only for SpeedBoost purchase. It later became available for purchase with in-game cash after the game's One-Year anniversary update on July 26th, 2011. Since August 22nd, 2012, it has been featured as a 'B' and 'A' Class vehicle.
The performance of the Viper SRT-10 is largely influenced by heavy steering in corners, which is compensated by strong acceleration. It has a weak nitrous boost and a high weight to make the car useful in Pursuit Outrun and Team Escape. Top speed is 189 mph (304 km/h).
The "Limited Edition" variant has no performance parts but is customised with a few aftermarket parts. It is not obtainable in any way since it had been no longer available as a Top-Up gift.
A "Blue Juggernaut" variant of the Viper was released on April 12th, 2011. It is upgraded with Gromlen Race Tuned parts and has a 607 overall rating but also customised with Skill Mods such has "Heavy Mass." It was purchaseable for 4,000 and has been retired from the car dealer since December 3rd, 2012.
A "Red Juggernaut" variant was added on May 10th, 2011 as a Top-Up gift. It is identical to the Blue Juggernaut with the difference of a blue theme. It was made available as a Top-Up gift on November 5th, 2012 again and is currently unavailable for purchase.
- The Viper SRT-10 in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) can be selected in Anaconda Green Pearl, Graphite Metallic, Viper Black, Viper Blue Metallic, Viper GTS Blue, Viper Race Yellow, Viper Red, Viper Snakeskin Pearl, Viper Very Orange or Viper White.
