The Ferrari 456 M GT is the predecessor of the 612 Scaglietti. Only 688 456 M GTs were built from 1998 to 2003, with each one equipped with a 5.5L V12 producing 442HP. The 5.5L V12, which is also used in the 550 Maranello won the "over 4 litre" class of the International Engine of the Year awards in 2001 and 2002.
Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit
The 456 M GT was only available as an official downloadable add-on car for the PC release of Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit. Despite being powered by the same engine as the 550 Maranello, the 456 M GT is featured as a Class B car due to its higher weight and lower power output.
The 456 M GT can be selected with a 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, with the manual version offering better performance.
