Calm Before the Storm is a Hot Pursuit event featured in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and it is a racer career event.
The event is unlocked by beating Wild Ride. It can be accessed from the East Gorge Canyon racer node on the career map, and is a Hyper Series event that starts along Boulder Road.
Route[]
The event starts west along Boulder Road, continues north along Memorial Highway, turns east along South Face Drive, and finishes at the southern end of Interstate 33.

The player is given three Turbos, five EMPs, five Spike Strips, and five Jammers.

The player's choice of racer vehicle for this event is limited to Hyper Series cars.
Racer Suspects[]
There are three racer suspects participating in the event alongside the player:
If the player chooses a vehicle driven by one of the other suspects, that suspect will drive a Koenigsegg Agera instead.
SCPD Units[]
Four SCPD Koenigsegg CCX Special Response units will engage in pursuit from the petrol station on Memorial Highway, at the 11.8 miles remaining mark. Additional units will engage in pursuit if the previous units are taken out. These units will use EMPs, Helicopter Support, Roadblocks, and Spike Strips.
