Neon refers to a visual vehicle modification featured in the Need for Speed series.
Neon is an inert noble gas used alongside other noble gases in fluorescent lighting to create a wide spectrum of colours. Tubes of neon or other noble gases can be placed in high voltage discharge tubes to create a wide assortment of differing colours.
Neon tubes can be placed along various areas of a car to create distinctive glowing lights. Different mixtures of noble gases such as; Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton and Xenon are combined to create a wide assortment of alternatively coloured lights.
Equipping neon does not affect a vehicle's performance but will raise the star rating of a vehicle.
