The Ford Mustang RTR-X (Ready to Rock) is a heavily modified 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback constructed by Team Need for Speed and Vaughn Gittin Jr. in 2010.

It was designed to compete in Drift motorsport and was first introduced in the 2010 SEMA Show.

The vehicle is powered by a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine and is equipped with a transmission from the 2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302 R1, an individual Kindler throttle body injection system and a MoTeC M800 ECU.

Need for Speed: World

The Mustang RTR-X was made available in Need for Speed: World on October 14, 2011. Since August 22, 2012, it has been featured as an A class vehicle.

The biggest advantage of the Mustang RTR-X is its powerful nitrous boost, which is comparable to other high-performance S Class cars. Its acceleration is somewhat lacking, since a 2012 Boss 302 equipped with the same parts is faster. Another notable trait of the RTR-X is a responsive steering which is suitable for high-speed cornering.

Shift 2: Unleashed

Stub - This article section needs expanding with relevant information.

The Mustang RTR-X appears in Shift 2: Unleashed as a reward car with a B 1280 performance rating. It is gifted to the player after they have defeated Vaughn Gittin Jr in the Muscle Discipline.

Need for Speed: The Run

The Mustang RTR-X appears in Need for Speed: The Run as a tier 4 Team Need for Speed signature edition car. It is unlocked upon achieving a gold medal in all events of the Coastal Rush challenge series.

It has the lowest top speed (180 mph/290 km/h) and slowest acceleration time among its tier. However, it compensates these traits with great handling, although it's still prone to oversteer whilst exiting corners due to a "very difficult" handling rating.

Trivia

  • The RTR-X lacks its window decals in Need for Speed: World.
