The Ford Shelby GT500 is a second generation high performance model built by Ford but applied with the Shelby name, and is the second facelift following the initial S-197 I in 2006 preceding the S-197 II in 2010.

It was first unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show and was made available in May 2012. The 2013 model of the GT500 features various improvements including a set of HID headlights, new LED tail lights, a removed front grill for increased cooling, twin fuel pumps, larger fuel injectors, a Tremec 6060 six-speed gearbox, and a single-piece carbon fibre drive shaft.

The biggest alteration is the 5.8-litre supercharged V8 being fitted in place of the previous 5.4-litre supercharged V8.

Need for Speed: Rivals

The GT500 appears in Need for Speed: Rivals as an RCPD unit following its reveal through a contest held by the official Need for Speed Facebook feed on May 27, 2013.

Need for Speed: No Limits

The GT500 appears in Need for Speed: No Limits as a Muscle class car following an update in October 6, 2015. It was released as a Snoop Dogg variant with pre-installed modifications.

The GT500 becomes available as a loaner vehicle after entering the time-limited Snoop Dogg Special Event and is unlocked once all five chapters in the event are completed. The vehicle returned for a Special Events from November 7 to November 12, 2016 and from October 6 to October 12, 2017.

Need for Speed: Edge

The GT500 appears in Need for Speed: Edge.
