Compared to the older XK X100, the new X150 is a completely new car as it is no longer based on the Jaguar XJS. It was designed by Ian Callum and was unveiled at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. The XK lineup underwent a facelift in 2009 and 2011.
Need for Speed: Carbon
The XK performs very similar to the Aston Martin DB9 except for a better acceleration and handling.
Regardless of whether the player has the Collector's Edition or not, a red XK will always appear in several of the cut scenes during the career mode. It is first seen driving alongside Darius' Audi Le Mans quattro after the player crashes their BMW M3 GTR during the opening chase against Cross. Darius enters the same XK during his leaving speech with the player after his defeat.
- In the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii releases, the Jaguar XK seen in Darius' cutscenes is silver.
- When fully upgraded, the Jaguar XK uses the same engine sound as an upgraded Dodge Charger SRT-8.
- A modified green Jaguar XK must be driven in the silver tier Pursuit Evasion event of the Challenge Series in the Collector's Edition release of Need for Speed: Carbon.
