The Mazda RX-7 RZ (FD) is a limited edition model of the 1999 to 2002 produced Mazda RX-7. Prior to the end of production, the Spirit R was introduced, which was introduced as the last limited edition model of the RX-7.
The Type RZ differs from the regular RX-7 by being exclusively available with grey BBS wheels and red interior. In addition, the RZ was upgraded with slightly more powerful turbochargers and a new muffler.
In contrast to the 1995 RX-7, the RZ has a moderately stronger nitrous boost and better acceleration, that is comparable with the BMW M3 Sport Evolution's. In addition, it is capable of reaching 159 mph (256 km/h) as standard top speed.
Its steering responsiveness and precision are also significantly improved. Overall, the RZ is a competitive C or B Class vehicle with well rounded performance.
The stock variant can be unlocked upon beating 15 objectives in the Underground Playlist. It has a Normal handling rating, which is shared by any other variant of the RZ as well. The Tier 2 RZ is a decent performing car and does not show any particular weaknesses but also no outstanding strengths either.
The "Nicholas Signature Edition" featured in the Signature Edition Booster Pack is rated as a Tier 5 car. Its top speed is 354 kmh (220 mph). The car goes from 0 to 100 in 3.9 seconds and produces 646 bhp at 6,650 rpm. Unlike the Tier 2 version, the Nicholas RZ does exceed in terms of top speed.
The "NFS Edition" is rated as a Tier 6 car, which is capable of reaching 250 mph (402 kmh). The engine of the NFS Edition RX-7 delivers 956 bhp at 7,000 rpm and enables a 0 to 100 time in 3.6 seconds. The top speed of the NFS Edition is up to par with other fast Tier 6 cars.
