Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012)/Powershot Nitrous

Powershot Nitrous is a vehicle modification in Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012). It is available for all vehicles in both single player and multiplayer.

Equipping the Powershot Nitrous modification allows the player to activate an oxidising agent that will in increase the power output of the vehicle's engine for the duration of its usage. It can only be activated upon the vehicle's nitrous tank being completely filled.

Nitrous will slowly regenerate as the player drives their vehicle but the rate of replenishment will dramatically increase if the player successfully performs dangerous driving acts or by passing through a Repair Shop.

The professional Powershot Nitrous modification offers a larger tank capacity.

Single Player

The standard Powershot Nitrous modification is unlocked in multiplayer for a vehicle upon the player reaching a specific milestone for that vehicle. The requirements differ between each class of vehicle.

The professional modification is unlocked upon the player using standard Powershot Nitrous modification 25 times.

The standard and professional variations of the Powershot Nitrous mod has to be unlocked individually for each vehicle in single player.

Multiplayer

The standard Powershot Nitrous modification is unlocked in multiplayer for a vehicle upon the player reaching a specific milestone for that vehicle. The requirements differ between each class of vehicle.

Everyday Class	Drive 10 miles (16km) with the vehicle
Exotic Class	Drive 100 miles (160km) with the vehicle
Grand Tourer Class	Drive 200 miles (320km) with the vehicle
Muscle Class	Drive 5 miles (8km) with the vehicle
Race Class	Drive 50 miles (80km) with the vehicle
Sports Class	Drive 50 miles (80km) with the vehicle
SUV Class	Drive 25 miles (40km) with the vehicle

The professional modification is unlocked upon the player earning 50 Nitrous-powered Takedowns with the standard Powershot Nitrous modification equipped to any vehicle during SpeedLists.

A Nitrous-powered Takedown is performed upon the player taking down another player with the activation of Powershot Nitrous. It can only be performed during the duration of its activation.
