The Player takes the role of an undercover Tri-City Bay Police Department officer in Need for Speed: Undercover.

Aside from being able to choose their own car, the player drives certain cars during some career events:

• During the opening sequence, the player uses a Nissan 370Z (Z34) to escape from the Tri-City Bay Police Department.
• After the opening chase, the player receives a Nissan 240SX (S13) that can be kept in their garage.
• Near the end of the career, the player drives a BMW M6 stolen from Chau Wu.
