|Location(s)||West Virginia, Maryland|
Stage 9 is the ninth chapter of The Run mode in Need for Speed: The Run. It mainly passes through the forests of the West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. There is one notable rival in this stage.
Expressway (Beaver Valley, PA)Edit
Expressway spans 5,6 miles of road. Directly at the start of the race, players can enter a shortcut, which goes through a farm. The next shortcut is present at 4 miles, which goes through a farm house at the end. The last one passes through a farm house with destructible doors. Expressway has checkpoints at following distances: 4.1, 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 miles.
Interstate 68 (National Fwy, WV)Edit
They can be very difficult to shake off, since the track has a high traffic density and many roadblocks. Two roadblocks appear at 4 miles behind a bridge.
The first one can be avoided by driving on the left side on the road, whilst the second can be swerved by driving through the middle gap. Checkpoints are available at 5.3, 3.8, 2.2 and 0.8 miles. A gas station icon will be displayed at around 5 miles.
Deer Park (Garrett State Forest, MD)Edit
In this event, Jack will encounter Mila Belova once more to fight for Run Position 11. Throughout the race the player will run across a series of sharp 90° and hairpin turns. Further, due to the narrowness of the road and oncoming traffic, the player may accidentally come off the road. Five checkpoint marks are placed in this race (3.8, 2.7, 2.2, 1.5, 0.6).
Sawmill Drive (Big Run State Park, MDEdit
The last race event of Stage 9 is a checkpoint race going through the Big Run State Park in Maryland. The roads can be dangerous to drive on, as most turns are tricky to master and require caution for traffic. Players can also come off the road if driving too fast. At 3,5 miles an Elite Unit Gallardo will chase the player. At 2,2 miles a Nissan GT-R will shortly aid the Lamborghini.
