Tollbooth Race
Talk0this wiki
A Tollbooth Race is a particular form of a sprint race. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is the only NFS game to feature tollbooth races. Need for Speed: Carbon had a very similar race mode. The only difference between both are that in Carbon, players don't drive through tollbooths but marked checkpoints in a sprint course.
Overview
Edit
Only one player takes part in a tollbooth race. Just right after the race has started, the player has to go the tollbooth as soon as possible, before his time runs out. If the player has reached the second tollbooth he's getting extra time in order to reach the next tollbooth. The player wins the race after he has driven through every tollbooth in the race without running out of time.
In some tollbooth races the player can get chased by the police. These races are denoted with high police activity.
Tips
Edit
- Tollbooth races are a great way to earn money, because most of them are not really challenging and not that long like circuit races for example.
- The higher you are positioned in the Blacklist, tollbooth races are getting harder. Tollbooths may not give you much additional time or it could be that the player has to drive a long distance to reach another tollbooth. High level challenges are also very demanding. That means that you should regularly upgrade your car's performance.
- Never crash into a tollbooth. Your car will be notably slowed down.
