Speed

Top Speed Run is a game type featured in Need for Speed: ProStreet.

Players race against up to seven other drivers along an enclosed course with a set start and finish line. Several checkpoints along the course will record the driver's speed and create an average across all checkpoints along the course.

This game type is similar to the Speedtrap game mode featured in Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Need for Speed: Carbon.

The participant with the highest overall speed score is declared the winner. The king of Speed events in Need for Speed: ProStreet is Nate Denver.

Vehicles applied with a Speed blueprint are rated based on their power, stability and aerodynamics.

Points[]

The amount of points awarded to the player is dependent on their performance during a race. The player's finishing position, scale of car damage, and completion time affect their total points accumulated.

Finishing in first place awards 4,500 points, finishing in second place awards 3,000 points, finishing in third place awards 1,500 points, and finishing in fourth place awards 750 points.

The scale of damage to a player's vehicle can also alter the amount of points they are awarded. Completing an event with no damage will award 500 points, light damage will award between 500 to 50 points and heavy damage will award between 50 to 0 points.

Additional points are awarded based upon how much quicker the player's event time is in comparison to a set target time. The target time is based upon the performance of the previous record holder for the event and the organisation that is hosting the raceday.
